A 20-year old housewife, Lamratu Nasiru, has landed in trouble after she allegedly attacked her co-wife’s baby as revenge and murdered her during a public fight with the mother, Mrs. Zabbau Nasiru, in Katsina State.

The defendant, Lamratu and the baby’s mother, Zabbau, were wives of one Mallam Nasiru of Unguwar Shalele village, Matazu Local Government Area of the state, before the sad incident.
The defendant was arrested by the Police after they received a report of the ugly incident that the baby sustained a serious injury on her head and was rushed to the General Hospital, Musawa, where she was certified dead by a medical doctor.
At the Katsina Magistrates Court, where the defendant was arraigned, the Police told the Court that the incident occurred on 21st August, 2022, at Unguwar Shalele village.
The victim’s mother, Mrs. Zabbau, reported the incident at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Matazu, following which Lamratu was arrested and charged before Court for culpable homicide in accordance with Section 189 of Katsina State Penal Code Law, 2021.
The Court further heard that the baby’s mother, Zabbau, also allegedly sustained injuries during the brawl.
