A 46-year old woman, Mrs. Sifau Subair, reportedly displayed her boxing skills on her husband’s brother, Tosin Subair, and knocked off one tooth during a public brawl in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the family house on Omotola Street, Isolo area of Lagos, where they reside.
It was gathered that the victim, Tosin and Mrs. Sifau’s husband had a quarrel over a family issue. The husband then contacted his wife, Sifau, who confronted Tosin and engaged him in public fight
During the brawl, Mrs. Sifau reportedly beat Tosin mercilessly, injured his hand, damaged his upper lip and knocked off his tooth before the victim was rescued. He was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment and the matter was later reported to the Police.
Mrs. Sifau was arrested by Police and after interrogation they found her culpable. She was later charged before Isolo Magistrates Court for assault for causing grievous harm on the victim.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Rita Momah, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adegbite, granted Mrs. Sifau bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum. She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter was further adjourned to enable the family to resolve the matter out of Court.
It was also gathered that the defendant, Sifau, is very strong physically to the extent that any person that engages her in a fight will not forget encounter in a hurry especially men.
