A 36-year old woman, one Mrs. Shukurat Mahmud, has displayed her cruelty in Lagos on an 8-year old girl, Miss Aishat Mahmud, by using hot pressing iron to injure her face.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 43, Nurudeen Oyebola Street in Ikorodu area of Lagos where they reside.

This was said to have happened after Mrs. Mahmud had concluded her religious prayer obligation at a nearby mosque in the area.

However, their neighbours who knew what happened informed the police and the victim was rescued for treatment.
The woman was arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Supol Ayorinde, asked the court for a date for the hearing to enable him prove to the court that she actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect the bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 13th February, 2019.
