Leading Digital Pay TV, StarTimes has introduced a dedicated TV program ‘StarTimes Daily —— COVID-19 report’ in commemoration of the 2020 World Health Day and for accurate and useful information about the COVID-19 pandemic.
World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on the 7th of April, and the brand initiative for 2020 is to ‘Support nurses and midwives’ in their contribution and support during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The StarTimes Daily —— COVID-19 report’ aimed at ensuring people in urban and rural areas from the continent is equipped with knowledge and information on the virus. And this has contributed to building healthy behavior and keeping a healthy body among the public.
The dedicated TV program will broadcast in English, French, Portuguese and local languages every weekday across 12 channels on StarTimes and its mobile streaming platforms, StarTimes ON.
Speaking on this development, the company noted that: “The StarTimes Daily —— COVID-19 report will provide viewers with updates and data about the pandemic in Africa and the world.
It will also share prevention knowledge, countermeasures and experience of various countries so people can protect themselves and their families more effectively.”
According to the company, “As the COVID-19 is spreading, people have many questions about the virus. Many rumors are spreading on social media and official information is sometimes difficult to get. We will make information more accessible to our viewers through this daily report. At the same time, we want to give people hope. They need to know that they are not the only ones fighting the virus and that the fight can be won.”
