The Wukari Traditional Council has conferred the revered royal title of “Akii” on Benue Rebirth Movement leader, Air Vice Marshal Monday R. Morgan (Rtd).
The council announced the honour in a letter dated 2nd April, 2026, issued from its secretariat in Wukari, formally inviting the elder statesman to accept the title.
According to the statement, the conferment of the title is in recognition of Monday’s enduring public service and voice in national discourse.
It praised AVM Morgan’s “sterling contributions and unflinching commitment,” noting his steady hand in championing causes that speak to equity, justice and national cohesion.
Across Benue’s shifting political terrain, AVM Morgan has stood at the forefront of the vanguard of agitation for power shift, lending his voice and stature to calls for balance and inclusion.
By this conferment, the council has vested him with the symbolic role of “shield of the Kwararafa people,” a charge that reflects both trust and expectation.
The honour, the council noted, recognises his capacity to defend communal interests while strengthening ties between the Kwararafa bloc and wider governmental institutions.
Barr. Bachotsatu Agbo, Secretary of the council, signed the letter, extending the monarch’s blessings and urging Morgan to formally indicate his acceptance.
