As Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas, popular Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi kingdom has enjoined Nigerians to continue to be tolerant of one another and live peacefully, highlighting that peace remains the panacea to addressing other social economic challenges.
In a release signed by the Palace spokesman, Temitope Oyefeso, the monarch said “our people should continue to tolerate one another. We need to preach and show love, regardless of the challenges confronting us, as it is by so doing that we can collectively surmount all of these challenges.”
Oba Elegushi reminded Nigerians that our population and multi-ethnic and multi-religious society should be an instrument of strength, which should assist us in achieving the full potentials of our blessed country.
The monarch also advised the government to continue to put the people first in policy formulation and implementation, noting that when policies appear anti-people, the citizens may revolt, leading to break down of trust between the government and the people.
Oba Elegushi urges caution as the celebration reaches its peak, reminding that the world is yet to get over the covid-19 pandemic and its new variants.
