Yayi Meets Ogun APC State Executive, Donates 30-Seater Bus, Preaches Unity And Stronger Internal Democracy

 

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Yayi, has called for greater unity, peace and cohesion within the party, urging leaders and members to strengthen internal democracy and work collectively for the progress of the party.

 

Senator Adeola made the call on Wednesday when he met with members of the Ogun State Executive Council of the APC at the party secretariat in Abeokuta.

 

The meeting, which formed part of his continued engagement with party leadership and stakeholders across the state, provided an opportunity for robust discussions on strengthening the party, deepening grassroots engagement and fostering greater cooperation among its organs.

As a demonstration of his commitment to the party’s activities, Senator Adeola presented a 30-seater bus to the Ogun State chapter of the APC to enhance its mobility and facilitate organisational and mobilisation activities across the 20 Local Government Areas.

 

The donation was received with appreciation by the State Executive Council, who described it as timely and a boost to the party’s logistics capacity ahead of upcoming political engagements.

Addressing the state executives, Senator Adeola stressed the need for peace, mutual respect and unity, noting that the true strength of the APC lies in its ability to accommodate diverse interests and work towards common objectives.

He urged party leaders to embrace dialogue and consultation in resolving differences, noting that disagreements are part of democratic engagement but should not be allowed to weaken the party or create divisions.

“The strength of our party will be better demonstrated through our ability to accommodate different interests and work together towards common objectives,” he said.

The governorship candidate also called on existing members to properly integrate new leaders and members joining the party from other political platforms, describing their arrival as an opportunity to expand the party’s strength and broaden its political base.

He urged old members to welcome the new entrants without rancour, while charging the newcomers to respect the established structures, leadership and democratic processes of the APC.

According to him, the APC must remain an inclusive political family where old and new members can work together, contribute their experience and pursue shared objectives without unnecessary divisions.

Senator Adeola pledged his commitment to supporting internal democracy, inclusiveness, consultation and fairness within the party, stressing that the collective interest of the APC and the people of Ogun State must remain paramount.

He assured the State Executive of his readiness to work closely with the party leadership, elected representatives, stakeholders and grassroots members to strengthen party structures and promote effective coordination across the state.

The meeting also featured discussions on strategies for improving communication, mobilisation and cooperation among the different levels of the party, with participants emphasising the importance of unity and collective responsibility.

The engagement ended with a renewed commitment by stakeholders to sustained consultation, cooperation and peaceful coexistence as the APC continues to consolidate its structures across Ogun State.
