The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on Sunday July, 26, met and rewarded a seven-year-old prodigy artist, Kendis, with a full scholarship up to the university level and a cash gift of N2.5 million after the young boy’s hand-drawn portrait of the senator went viral on social media.
The prodigious young artist, Kendis, was specially invited to Senator Adeola’s Scholarship and Bursary Award Ceremony, where he presented the original artwork to the senator.
The young artist was warmly received by Senator Adeola and his wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, before a large audience of beneficiaries, dignitaries, and guests.
Moved by the exceptional talent and creativity displayed by the seven-year-old, Senator Adeola announced a full educational scholarship covering the boy’s studies through the university level, alongside an immediate cash reward of ₦2.5 million to support his artistic development and encourage him to pursue his dreams.
Senator Adeola said every child with exceptional talent deserves the opportunity to excel, noting that identifying and supporting young people with outstanding potential remains central to his vision of building a brighter future for Ogun State.
He added that beyond investing in education through scholarships and bursaries, it is equally important to recognise and nurture gifted children whose talents can inspire others and contribute meaningfully to society.
“Every child with exceptional talent deserves the opportunity to realise their full potential. While education remains a cornerstone of our development agenda through scholarships, bursaries and improved learning opportunities, we must also recognise and nurture gifted young people whose unique abilities can inspire others and make meaningful contributions to society. By investing in these exceptional talents today, we are building a future where Ogun State is renowned not only for academic excellence but also for producing innovators, creators and leaders who will compete and excel on the global stage,” he said.
