Team Lagos athletes have begun to haul more medals for the state as the ongoing 6th National Youth Games taking place in Ilorin, Kwara State gets underway inside the University of Ilorin and other centres in the city.
With the conclusion of events in swimming, Lagos won 10 silver and 6 bronze medals, while karate produced 2 silver when the proceeding was concluded in the sport on Saturday on Day 3 of the tournament.
In golf, the duo of Egbahkumeh Osiregbemeh Joseph and Oyero Destiny Oluwashetemi won a bronze medal in stableford (18 holes) team event, while Oyero had early won bronze in the strokeplay.
Ojo Mufutihat Omowunmi produced a silver medal in the -44kg girls judo event.
Meanwhile, Lagos’s Bidemi Olatunji will be playing in the final of the Squash event on Sunday after she beat her Abia State counterpart 3-0 in the semifinal on Saturday, while Isaac Blessing made her way in the singles final of Fives after she won her match against Kano.
Mathew Kuti, Akanbi Taiwo, and Rabiu Aishat are currently in the round of 16 of table tennis. Matches in table tennis continue on Sunday.
