The Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria ably led by National President, Senior Comr. Amb. Emeni Ibe, in conjunction with Opinion Leaders, Youth Groups and Stakeholders, has passed Vote of Confidence on Comrade Matthew Asime Dango, the SA on Youths to the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the decision was taken at the end of a crucial meeting with opinion leaders, stakeholders and youth groups in Port Harcourt on Thursday 16th May, 2024.
Speaking on the personality and qualities of the respected aide of the NDDC MD, the leadership of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria in alignment with other youth groups in the region, described the appointment of Mr. Matthew Asime Dango as the SA on Youths to the MD of NDDC as best thing to ever happen in the history of NDDC.
While addressing the media after the crucial meeting in Port Harcourt, Snr. Comr. Amb. Emeni Ibe, National President of Southern Youth Foundation said, “We are very comfortable with the way and manner the Hon SA is currently carrying out the duties required of his highly esteemed office”.
“As vibrant Youth groups in the Niger Delta Region, we strongly believe that Comrade Matthew Asime Dangote needs the support of all and sundry to enable him achieve more. We have stated before now that the constant removal or dissolution of previous boards and management of the NDDC was a clear reason for the underdevelopment of the region in spite of the funds release to the Agency. This is so because over the years, it led to abandonment of projects and noble programmes.”
“We hereby state unequivocally that our people are confident of the present board and management. We will not fail to state on a strong note that we are very much at home with the current SA on  Youths to the NDDC MD/CEO. His amiable personality and approach to the issues pertaining to the youths in the region is highly commendable. We are however, not surprised about his positivism and work ethics because it must be noted that Mr. Matthew Asime Dangote before his appointment was one of us.”
“We therefore, appeal to the so called petitioners to stop the distraction, close ranks and work with the Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku led NDDC Executive Management in order to move the Niger Delta Region forward in line with the vision and Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President.”
