Prominent figures in Igboland including billionaire Cletus Uzozie Oragwa (Zenco), High Chief Francis Nwaogwugwu (Vintage Interior), and Former Guber candidate in Anambra, Mr. Val Ozigbo, are expected to attend the funeral rites of the late Mrs. Theresa Adimonye Oraeto Igboaka (née Akaogu) on 9th January and 10th January, 2026, in Abagana, Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.
Mrs. Igboaka died last year after a brief illness and has since been buried according to her wish.
A service of song was held on the 8th of January, 2026, at the deceased’s compound marking the beginning of her funeral obsequies.
The late Mrs. Igboaka, a respected matriarch and pillar of the Abagana community, passed away at the age of 70.
Born on June 8, 1955, into the Akaogu family of Umuesesulum Ward in Orofia village, Abagana, she worked as a civil servant in Njikoka Local Government Area for 20 years.
She was a founding member of St Michael & All Angels’ Anglican Church, Abagana, and served as Women’s Leader and President General of the Abagana Welfare Union Women’s Wing.
Her leadership and philanthropic work earned her widespread recognition within her community and beyond.
Mrs. Igboaka’s marriage to Mr. Gideon Igboaka (of blessed memory) was built on faith, mutual respect, and shared purpose, and they raised nine children together among whom are Chief Chibuzor Oraeto, Chairman Searite Group and Sir Peter Igboaka, a respected business Mogul based in Lagos.
