Two workers at Domino’s Pizza & Coldstone Creamery have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the company’s N27m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that a 24-year old female worker, Soremi Teniola Omowunmi and Adeniyi Mustapha Adewale, 21, were alleged to have stolen the money between June 2025 to February 2026 at GRA, Ikeja, where the company is located.
According to the Police, the suspects stole the money without the knowledge of the management for several months.
However, the matter was exposed after the management conducted an internal audit and discovered that the money was missing but the suspects were unable to explain what happened to the money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. They were then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing money.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I:- “That you, Soremi Teniola Omowunmi ‘F’, Adeniyi Mustapha Adewale and others now at large between June 2025 to February 2026 at GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 412 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Soremi Teniola Omowunmi ‘F’, Adeniyi Mustapha Adewale and others now at large on the same date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal sum of N27,944,260.00 (Twenty-Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Forty-Four Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty Naira Only) property of EATNGO-AFRICA LIMITED owner of DOMINOS PIZZA and COLDSTONE CREAMERY and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
