In a strongly-worded press statement, Senior Comrade Amb. Emeni Ibe, the President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC who doubles as the National President of the Southern Youth Foundation, has publicly addressed what he described as “malicious attempts” to tarnish his reputation and undermine his unwavering support for the administration of Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking at a press conference held on Saturday, Comrade Ibe refuted recent allegations and misrepresentations aimed at questioning his loyalty to the leadership of Rivers State. He emphasized his dedication to the principles of loyalty, service, and commitment that guide his role in the Orashi National Congress and the Southern Youth Foundation.
“I have been and remain a true supporter of our Governor’s administration,” Comrade Ibe stated firmly. “Despite these baseless attacks, my loyalty to Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara and the leadership of Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, Former Chief of Staff to Government House, remains unshaken.”
Ibe went further to challenge those spreading falsehoods to a public debate, asserting that such a forum would allow the truth to prevail. He also warned that the continued propagation of defamatory remarks could result in legal action.
“To those who seek to damage my reputation, I challenge you to a public debate, where we can settle these false claims once and for all,” he declared. “Should these baseless accusations persist, I will not hesitate to pursue legal remedies to protect my name and integrity.”
In the press statement, he also acknowledged Governor Fubara’s efforts in supporting initiatives championed by the Orashi National Congress and the Southern Youth Foundation. Comrade Ibe reiterated his commitment to aligning with the Governor’s developmental agenda and working tirelessly for the benefit of Rivers State citizens.
The press conference concluded with a resounding declaration of confidence: “I am confident that the truth will prevail, and I will be vindicated.”
The allegations against Comrade Ibe are yet to be substantiated, and many observers have praised his call for a public debate as a bold and transparent move to address the issue head-on.
This development underscores the importance of maintaining decorum and factual accuracy in political discourse, as leaders like Comrade Emeni Ibe continue to advocate for progress and unity in Rivers State.
