Two Ladies, Precious Ijessei, 39 and Onyinyechi Nwafor, 22, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly engaging in a public fight over a man, identified as Olamilekan Awe.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olapade Street, Isale Haruna, Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos.
According to the Police, one of the ladies, Precious, had a disagreement with Mr. Awe over an undisclosed matter. She attacked, gave him bite and used a bottle to stab him on the chest, which caused deep injuries.
She then faced Onyinyechi and engaged her in a public fight and they sustained serious injuries during before their neighbours intervened and contacted the Police at Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos.
They were arrested and transferred to the Command while Mr. Awe, who was injured during the fight, was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
During the interrogation, the Police found out that the cause of the fighting was in connection with Mr. Awe.
They were consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr L.A. Owolabi, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
