2 Men Docked For Allegedly Gang-raping Girl, 11

Two men, Samuel Sunday, 23 and Andrew Obiaru, 49, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly gang-raping an 11-year old girl before it was exposed by the victim’s teacher. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects have been arrested and charged for defilement over their alleged conduct.

 

The incident happened sometime in December, 2025 at Ogabi Square, Off Mangoro Agege, Lagos, where they reside

 

According to the Police, the suspects lured the victim, engaged her in the act and warned her not to tell anyone about it and she kept it to herself.

 

However, the matter got exposed when her class teacher in February, 2026, noticed her absentmindedness and her appearance being dull as she appeared in a dirty uniform.

 

The teacher asked to know why and she revealed that she had been molested by the suspects severally and the matter was reported to the Dopemu Police Division. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the suspects and transferred them to the Gender Section of the State Command for further investigation.

 

After investigation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence .

 

The charges read:

“That you. Samuel Sunday ‘m’ and Andrew Obiaru ‘m’, sometime in ne month of December 2025, at Ogabi Square, Off Mangoro Agege, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: Defilement and thereby committed an an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Samuel Sunday ‘m’ and Andrew Obiaru ‘m’, on the same date and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did defile one girl ‘f 11years old, by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
