Cerebral Doctor, Dr. Mariette Amadi, the founder of 24Telemed, has been nominated for an award as Anambra Diaspora Person of the Year for her work in revolutionizing healthcare delivery in Nigeria through telemedicine.

 

Dr Amadi, from Anambra State, was selected for the recognition based on her commitment to improving access to quality medical services in underserved communities.

 

A distinguished medical professional and entrepreneur, Dr Amadi has dedicated her career leveraging technology to bridge the healthcare gap in Nigeria. Under her leadership, 24Telemed has emerged as a pioneering telemedicine organization, providing innovative solutions that connect patients with healthcare providers remotely. Her efforts are not only transforming the healthcare landscape but also empowering individuals to take charge of their health from the comfort of their homes.

 

In collaboration with the Anambra State Government, Dr. Amadi has spearheaded numerous telemedicine projects aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility and efficiency. These initiatives included the establishment of virtual clinics, remote consultations, and health education programmes, to improve health outcomes for thousands of Nigerians.

The AMTY award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions in the state and beyond.

Dr Amadi’s selection as the Diaspora Person of the Year is based on her contributions to the homeland while living abroad.

According to the Chairman Planning Committee, AMTY award (4th Edition) Dr. Amadi’s innovative approach to telemedicine exemplifies the positive impact that diaspora professionals can have on their communities.

 

Dr Amadi studied medicine at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nnewi. She practices medicine at a health facility in the U.S.A and has risen to become the Chief Medical Director of the health center.
