3 Men Arraigned For Stealing Container Truck Laden With N154m Goods

Three men, Shaibu Dantala, 38, Ali Abu,44, Yusuf Zakari, 18, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing 20-feet container truck laden with goods worth N154m, property of Mr. Dominic Nse Peter.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 10th November, 2025, at Agbara area, where they allegedly hijacked the truck.

 

According to the Police, the suspects and others now at large conspired, hijacked the truck on the highway and took it to an unknown location, where the items were stolen.

 

The complainant waited for the truck to deliver the goods to its destination to no avail and the matter was reported to the Police at the Lagos State Ccmmand. The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation over the truck.

 

After thorough interrogation,  the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read :

COUNT I : “That you, Shaibu Dantala ‘m’, Ali Abu ‘m’, Yusuf Zakari ‘m’ and others at large, on the 10th November, 2025, at 1700hrs at Agbara, Lagos in the Lagos magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Shaibu Dantala ‘m’, Ali Abu ‘m’, Yusuf Zakari ‘m’ and others at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did dishonestly steal a truck with Registration number ABC 430 XM conveying two 20ft container laden with contact Adhesive-Gum valued at One Hundred and Fifty Four Million Naira (N154,000,000.00), property of Mr. Dominic Nse Peter and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 7280(1)(a)(b) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions..
