3 Men Remanded For Stealing Dangote Company’s Iron Steel Worth N46m

Three men, Umaru Mohammed, 30, Isiya Abdulrauf, 32 and Shamisu Saidu, 25 have been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing iron steel worth N46m belonging to Dangote Sinotruck West African Limited. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 12th January, 2025, at  Dangote Plot at Oba -Akran Avenue, Ikeja.

 

According to the Police, the suspects went to the place at night and carted away the items but were unlucky as they were caught and handed over to the Police at MAN Center Division for interrogation over their alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence that attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Mohammed, Isiya Abdulrauf and Shamisu Saidu on the 12th January 2025, at about 2330hrs at West African Limited located at Dangote Plot 3. Oba -Akran Avenue, Ikeja, within Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 Criminal Law of Lagos 2015.”

 

COUNT II: “That you, Mohammed, Isiya Abdulrauf and Shamisu Saidu on the same date, time and place in the forementioned Magisterial District, did steal iron steel valued (N46m only) property of Dangote Sinotruck West African Limited and thereby Committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 Criminal aw of Lagos 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
