A major lesson we should have all learned by now, and that is implicit in what Oyi declaration had already conveyed, is that in a world of everchanging political metrics, electorate’s preferences remains unchangeable, and are necessary for the success of any political transition.

As ndi Oyi have unanimously agreed that it is their turn to occupy the House of Rep seat at the Green Chambers, there’s every need for discerning people of Oyi to get proactively involved in promoting the content of the historic declaration at Umunya, and we must channel efforts towards working with a credible aspirant that will be more acceptable to all. Unarguably, Hon. Ekene Enefe of APGA remains the best and most cherished personality in the race.

Vital Lessons from the Oyi Political Summit and the declaration:

1. The people of Oyi remain unshakably committed to the further development and expansion of the political economy of Oyi , and looks forward to working in close harmony with the stakeholders irrespective of political party affiliation, to identify other viable undertakings for which socio-political capital might be provided.

2. The people of Oyi were extremely pleased to observe that the political contest to represent Oyi/Ayamelum at Green Chambers has fostered the long desired unity of purpose. There is now a solid political partnership from which both Oyi and Ayamelum LGAs should explore for growth and development, creating wealth and prosperity for all through responsive and responsible leadership at all levels.

3. The Oyi political class are not pretending to have an answer to all the myriads of political problems and governance issues credited to poor representation of the consistency at the Federal House of Representatives, but think that if ndi Oyi can reflect for a little while, on some of the vital lessons that have come out of this period of arguments on power zoning, we may well be on our way to socio-economic freedom, and political stability.

4. The inherent lesson in the Oyi declaration is that, if you don’t write your own history no-one does it for your better. Ndi Oyi have risen and will henceforth, pay deaf ears to the divisive tendencies of ego centric politicians. A common front has been established and one voice achieved. Sabotaging our common cause is an act of suicide.

5. His Lordship Bishop Dennis Isiuzo spoke the mind of ndi Oyi who cherish good governance, effective representation and excellent service. The highly revered Bishop of Roman Catholic who hails from Ogbunike advocated for true representation. He advised that ndi Oyi should form the habit of holding their representatives accountable. Not forgetting the lessons of its history and the calling of its future.
