A Peep Into Anambra From Beijing…

Even from China I see a lot happening in Anambra that continues to excite me. Just this week Governor Soludo presented the draft bill of the 2024 budget document to the State Assembly signaling a “Change of Gear” in Anambra’s journey towards a liveable and prosperous homeland; he also joined other eminent Ndi Anambra at a commendation service/state burial in honour of erstwhile Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju. Yesterday, he was on Channels TV to, as usual, engage in a post-budget presentation analysis with the ever restless Seun Okinbaloye.

Then, later last night, he received the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adewusi at the Governor’s lodge, Amawbia, who came bearing symbolic artifacts I would later write about. I stayed up against the unfavourable time zoning system to keep tabs with, for the most part, a part of this remarkable events dotting the Goversnor’s work driven itinerary.

The outing on Channels TV was excellent. The more Seun pushed for controversies that will make the headlines knowing fully that he had a newsmaker in the studio, the more State-manly Gov. Soludo jumped his booby traps. Soludo is a man with clear understanding of prioritization and seasons. This is evident in the way he never misses any opportunity to make a point for history’s sake. Where that is not necessary he gladly walks away parrying his listeners to more important subjects.

The quality of Soludo’s intentional leadership can only be likened to those of Lee Kuan Yew who took Singapore from a third world to a first world country through various levels of interventions, even at personal levels. With 5000 youths now empowered with skills and seed capitals for startups, 5000 teachers earning decent wages to teach in Amambra schools and 3000 more teachers currently undergoing CBT tests, 20,000 participants trained across various digital skills for global competitiveness, I can only tell you that the future of Nigeria looks so Anambra.
