A 54-year old man, Jegede Folorunsho, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging his neighbour’s 8-year old daughter in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mushin area of Lagos State, where they reside.
According to Police sources, the suspect lured the victim into his apartment and forcefully engaged her in sex. And having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go. The girl got home and revealed what happened to her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police and the suspect, Folorunsho, was arrested and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, he was found culpable for the alleged offence and subsequently charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Paul Ugorji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the case.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ajayi, ordered his remand in the correctional centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s Advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
