Abeokuta North LG Boss, Oyegbola, Lays Foundation For 300 Units Low-Cost Housing Estate At Obasa Sabo

In a significant step towards turning communities into new town and infrastructural development within Abeokuta North Local Government Area, the Chairman, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, has laid the foundation for the 300 units building 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms semi-detached and detached on Thursday, April 17, at the Obasa Sabo in Abeokuta North Local Government.

This event is said follow his vision that had come through God and furtherance to the agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun C.O.N, Ogun State Governor that has commenced the significance level of development in housing across the Ogun State, as Abeokuta North is witnessing a testament of the development during the tenure of Dr. Oyegbola Sodipo.

The foundation-laying ceremony of the housing estate was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and residents, all of whom gathered to witness the beginning of what is expected to be a landmark project for the local government.

However, the council Chairman reiterates the mandates giving them to ensure that legacy of Prince Dapo Abiodun extend to the nooks and crannies of Ogun State, adding that the housing estate is envisioned not just as a physical structure but transform the housing development initiative of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Dr. Oyegbola Sodipo noted that the transformation of community into new town as a symbol of the collective spirit and unity of the people of Ogun State aimed at providing substantial low-cost housing for the dwellers as part of dividend of democracy thereby enhancing social and economic cohesion among residents.

He emphasized that the housing construction designed as a two-bedrooms detached, and 3 bedrooms detached and added that within a period of time it would near completion it’s to stand as a testament to our shared vision and commitment to progress as a community,” he stated during his welcome address.

Community Representatives ACDC and CDA members have expressed their satisfaction and excitement about the new development, viewing it as a positive step towards uniting the people of Obasa with this laudable projects and praised Dr. Oyegbola Sodipo and Prince Dapo Abiodun for bringing this project to adding that this is first of its kind.

As the foundation is laid today, 17th April 2025 and construction begins, the Abeokuta North Local Government Council, under the leadership of Dr. Oyegbola Sodipo is poised to making significant strides in enhancing community spirit and infrastructural development, promising the residents that the housing estate would be affordable for the people.
