Tuesday 4 April has been described as a sad day for the Nigerian movie industry, especially the Yoruba sector, as fast rising Nollywood actress, Modupe Oyekunle, died after giving birth at a hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Modupe, popularly called Oyinbo, already delivered of the baby girl, her third child before she passed on.
The baby survived.
Modupe, who was based in Abeokuta and a member of the Igi Aloye Caucus in Abeokuta, which produced the likes of Odunlade Adekola, played a prominent role as Sandra in Segun Ogungbe’s blockbuster movie, ‘Ibi Giga’ among other movies she has acted in.
