ADMCA’s Anti-Corruption Summit Berths In Awka

In furtherance of its primary mission, the Association of Digital Media Core Advocates, ADMCA, will be collaborating with some critical stakeholders in the society to host an anti-corruption summit at the Marble Arch Hotel, Awka, Anambra State.

Slated to hold on Friday, September 4, 2020, the event tagged: ‘Anambra Independent Media Anti-Corruption Summit 2020’, will have participants drawn from the media, security agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nigeria Police Force, government and the academia.

The summit which kicks off at 11.00am will have Mazi, Prince Uchenna Nwogu (PhD) Senior Lecturer Eastern Polytechnic/Dean Estam University, Akpakpa Campus, Cotonou, Republic of Benin as the Keynote Speaker. Other guests speakers and discussants expected at the epoch making event includes: Dr. Chuka Nnabuife (‘Principles of Journalism in Relation to Ethics’); Barr. Eze Scholar (‘Bipartisanship Nature of Journalism in Relation to Politics’); Dr. Ejike Ogoegbunam (‘Economics of Corruption’); Dr. Vero Okechukwu (‘Good Governance Advocacy: Using Social Media as a Veritable Tool’); Dr. Chinedu Mbalisi (‘The role of Citizen Journalists in the Fight Against Corruption’) and will be moderated by dynamic on-air-personality, Prisca Nwankwo of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Awka.

The National President of the Association of Digital Media Core Advocates, Dr. Harris Chuma, confirmed the summit is part of the group’s advocacy efforts at entrenching good governance in the state and Nigeria at large. He says: “As a body of responsible media personalities, practicing actively across various formats and platforms, we are committed to sensitizing the society on the need for good governance at all levels in the country. For this to happen, the media has got to play its role and that is why in spite of the odds, this group is committed to fulfill this obligation. We have had to commit personal resources and even borrow for this cause in the hope that we will leave a better society for our children. The summit will have all the critical stakeholders and at the end, we will be issuing a communiqué to further advance the discourse on how to make our society a better one”.

The Association of Digital Media Core Advocates, an independent body of Nigerian journalists has been at the forefront of advancing democracy and good governance with conferences, seminars, summits and lectures since it was legally constituted in 2018.
