A 40-year old robbery suspect, Tope Oladiran, has been arrested after he went to rob a woman and started cooking food in her apartment. He then ordered the woman to prepare for sex before he was eventually caught in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oladiran, who hails from Ondo State, had held his victim and her kids hostage threatening to wipe out the family if they raised alarm and was busy cooking in their kitchen.
However, Oladiran met his waterloo as he proceeded to the kitchen, prepared a sumptuous meal, ate to his satisfaction, and ordered the lady to prepare for sex.

The lady, who preferred death rather than to be abused in front of her kids, jumped down from their one-storey apartment and raised the alarm which attracted her neighbours and they apprehended the suspect.

Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2, Command, Onikan, Lagos, DSP Hauwa Idris Adamu, said the suspected robber, with no fixed address, used to go around Ikorodu area of Lagos, looking for phones, laptops or other gadgets to snatch.

“He has been putting up with his girlfriend, who works in a hotel as a waitress, with whom he has a child. Whenever the lady was not available, Tope hanged around the hotel premises.”
“The last operation, which led to his arrest, was when he preyed on a woman at Ori-Okuta, Agric area of Ikorodu, on March 29, 2020. Tope was unable to rob the woman of her mobile phone before she went into her compound but he somehow got to know that the woman lived alone with her two children.”
“Tope hanged around until later at night, when he scaled the fence to gain entrance into the compound and was able to enter the building through the kitchen. He went upstairs and hit the woman. The frightened woman pleaded for her life and that of her children and offered him her phone and laptop.”
“The suspect ransacked the flat, found some frozen food stocked in the freezer and boiled some for himself, went to the victim and told her all he was doing in the kitchen while he threatened to have unlawful carnal knowledge of the woman when he was done eating what he was preparing in the kitchen.”
“While he returned to the kitchen to dish what he had cooked, the helpless woman jumped from upstairs, raised the alarm and called out for help. The suspect then escaped with the woman’s phone.”
“The case was reported to operatives of the Zonal Monitoring Unit, who, after several attempts, was able to arrest the suspect through native intelligence in the Akute axis of Lagos, where he was relaxing in a hotel. The investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to Court”  DSP Hauwa Idris Adamu said.
