Administrative Vigor Through The Lens Of Dr Yekinni Nurudeen Agbaje ‘Nero’

Dr Yekinni-Agbaje Nurudeen Lanre, popularly known as ‘NERO’, was born on the 4th of September 1970 in Ikorodu, Lagos, Southwest geopolitical zone in Nigeria.

A multifunctional administrator, Dr Agbaje can be considered a bright pace setter, whose ideal is figuring out chances and fulfilment of purposes without contemplating anxiety and condition.

Growing up as a devout Muslim, he attended Muslim B’ Primary School, Ikorodu for his Primary School Leaving Certificate (1977-1983), before proceeding to the prestigious Oriwu College, Ikorodu, for his secondary education from 1983-1989.

In the tertiary side of his academics, he attended the Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, from 1991/92-1993/94 to attain OND in Insurance, and subsequently stretched the practice from 1995/96-1997/98, acquiring his HND in the same institution.

Acknowledging the call to serve, he did his (NYSC) National Youth Service Corps in Sokoto from 1998/to 1999, where he was discharged with his certificate.

He secured a Diploma in Computer Science at Megatech Training Centre in 1999.

To further pursue academic excellence, Dr Nurudeen Agbaje did his Post Graduate Degree program (PGD) in Management at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto from 1999/to 2000.

He went to the Lagos State University, Ojo to bag his bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2003/04-2008/09, departed to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology for an MBA in finance (2016/17-2018/19) and further returned to Lagos State University, Ojo for a degree in Doctor Educational Management 2019/20-2022/23.

Dr Nurudeen Agbaje is a certified member of the Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP).

In the public sector, as a civil servant, Dr Nurudeen Agbaje operated at the Lagos State Government Ministry of Economic, Planning & Budget (A&HR), as Chief Executive Officer from 2019-2022.

He administered with the Ministry of Environment (A&HR) as Assistant Chief Executive Officer from 2015-2019, and the Ministry of Environment Monitoring, Enforcement & Compliance as Principal Executive Officer 1 from 2007-2015.

He also performed with the Board of Internal Revenue as Executive Officer dating back 2001-2007.

Veering to the private sector, Dr Agbaje worked as the Assistant Marketing Manager Of Spectra Nigeria Ltd from 2000-2001, He maintained the title of Claim Assistant at Leadway Assurance Company Plc from 1998-1999.

His experience positioned him as an Underwriter & Risk Valuer at Standard Alliance Insurance Ltd in 2000 and also an Underwriter for AlICO Insurance Plc from 1994 -1995.

He’s presently the CEO/Managing Director of Lamag Estates & Homes Securities Limited.

Politically, Dr Agbaje was the Assistant Director of the 2023 Lagos State Campaign General Election Committee (Directorate of Religion), Director of Security, Ikorodu Division LOC General Election 2023 and the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Delegate 2023.

He was the Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group Coordinator for Ikorodu Central as Mobilization Directorate, 2018/19 .

Furthermore, Agbaje bade for the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA) Seat as an aspirant under the All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2015, 2019 and 2023 for Ikorodu Constituency 1.
