P.M.EXPRESS reports, thus, the Akika dynasty in Afashio-Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, has been thrown into mourning following his death.
Members of the Afashio-Uzairue community and the Lagos Branch of the Afashio Progressive Association of Nigeria, APAN, have announced plans to give the late Inspector a befitting farewell.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of APAN Lagos Branch, Sir Eragbhe-Omole Paschal, KSM, the association said the late Inspector Abuimehre, popularly known as “Gorgo,” will be buried on May 23, 2026, at his residence. APAN called on members and sympathizers to turn out en masse to honour the deceased and support the Akika family during the burial rites.

“Late Abuimehre was true to his name’s meaning. He was a man whose life spoke volumes of honour and good virtues. He will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with him,” the statement read.
The group urged members to remain united and prayerful during the period of mourning and called for peaceful conduct and support for the bereaved family.

The family said his passing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, came as a shock and left many in grief and sorrow. They expressed gratitude for his selfless service to humanity and his unwavering commitment to family and community values.
Quoting Psalm 116:15, the tribute stated, “Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints,” and prayed for God’s comfort upon all those mourning his demise. The family prayed for the repose of his soul and urged loved ones to take solace in the legacies and virtues he left behind.
