After Sterling Outing At NWFL Super 6, Sanwo-Olu Donates Cash To FC Robo

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has supported FC Robo, a Lagos-based Female Football Club to offset some expenses incurred during the just concluded Super 6 Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) held in Ijebu Ode in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.

The Governor, through the Lagos State Sports Commission, donated some funds to the club for the tournament. Speaking during the presentation of the cash donation, the Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku told the players, coaches and management of the club that Governor Sanwo-Olu in his magnanimity had also promised to donate a brand new bus to the club for easy movement.

According to the Chairman, Governor Sanwo-Olu will make available to FC Robo and the second female team from Lagos, some funds to be used by them for the club’s running costs for some period of time.

” This gift is for your performance during the just concluded Super 6 held at Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State,” Aiyepeku told FC Robo during the presentation on Monday.

The Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar, said it is necessary for the Lagos State Government to support the Team because “we believe in you.

“We see what you have done in running a football club and the state feels that there is the need to support you and the girls.

” We at the Sports Commission will continue to support you “.

Chairman, FC Robo International Soccer Academy, Emmanuel Osahon Orobosa said the Academy really appreciated the Lagos State Government and Lagos State Sports Commission for the kind support that will go along way in developing the girls career in football and take female football to the next level in Lagos State.

He promised that the club would make Lagos proud. “We are going to come top at next year’s super 6 and make Lagos State and the Governor proud.

Responding on behalf of her teammates, the Captain, FC Yobo Girls Football Club, Gift Monday, thanked the Lagos Governor for the support. She noted that every promise made by the Governor had always been fulfilled.
