Team Manager of Bucknor Football Club, Habeeb Adebowale has attributed his team’s loss to Iyaloja General United, IGU as a result of poor officiating in week 11 of Alimosho Football Coaches Council League.

IGU won their home match after defeating Bucknor 3-1 on Tuesday at Igando playground, Alimosho but Adebowale alleged centre referee of biased officiating which cost them humiliating defeat in the hands of the home team.

Adebowale admitted that their opponents were a good side but frowned that the officiating was not good enough and urged the organizers to look into the area of officiating when the league resumes the second stanza.

“Let me use this medium to tell organizers that I am not really impressed with the officiating. I saw our opponents committed fouls more than us which some of the fouls warranted a red card, the referee ignored it.

“Secondly the home fans always disturb the assistant referees during the game which one way or the other influenced decision of the centre referee. These are the things I expect organizers to look into before we commence the second stanza of the league,”

Adebowale admitted that their opponents are a good side but noted that they are not better than them. He said their return leg would not be an easy task when both teams clash in the second stanza.

In his own reaction, IGU coach, Samuel Nwanorom said their victory was well deserved noted that there was nothing wrong in officiating. He said instead of Bucknor manager accepting the result in good faith, he began to blame officiating for their scandalous defeat.

“The same referee that was biased in officiating awarded them a penalty which they lost in the first half. The same referee that was not good in officiating denied us our own penalty which I did not complain about. All I can say is that the better side won the game,” he said.

Kenny Aguele opened the goal scoring in the 3rd minute to give the home team an early lead. Lekan Ayinde who was delighted to watch scored the second goal to complete the onslaught.

Both teams played purposeful football. The two teams created more scoring chances in both halves. John Oyebamiji who was adjudged man of the match made it the third goal for the home team to send their fans into wild jubilation.

Segun Oderinde scored a consolatory goal for Bucknor to reduce the tally before the referee signalled for the final whistle.

Action resumes on Wednesday when top table leader, ECAS host NISSI at Awori Grammar School, Agboju. Two matches have been lined up on Friday as Kotech would be a guest to Layenda at Ansar Un Deen School, Lafenwa, while defending champions, Samjason would be at home against Flying Wings.
