The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended profound commendations to Anambra State Governor and the National Leader of APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for his unprecedented and life-changing works in Okpoko, Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State.

In a significant development hailed as a monumental achievement, Prof. Soludo’s vision and relentless dedication have been pivotal in transforming Okpoko, once considered the most slum-ridden part of Africa, into a city that now boasts livable standards and a vibrant community. The transformation is marked by the commissioning of a 12 km road network, flagging off another 15 km, and the establishment of a state-of-the-art General Hospital that caters to the health and wellness needs of the local population.

Barr. Ezeokenwa, in his reflection on the project, stated, “The revitalization of Okpoko by Governor Soludo is not merely an infrastructural feat but a socio-economic resurgence that will be eternally engraved in the annals of slum revitalization efforts globally. This is a testament to what visionary leadership can achieve, and it sets a new benchmark for urban regeneration in our country”.

During the ceremonial commissioning of the project, an elated Governor Soludo expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the initiative, stating, “Today marks a historic moment for the people of Okpoko and Anambra State at large. This project embodies our commitment to fostering an environment where every citizen has access to basic amenities, improved living conditions, and the dignity of a quality life. Our journey of transforming Okpoko is a clear message that we are dedicated to the holistic development of our state and to ensuring that no one is left behind in our pursuit of progress.”

The revitalization project not only improves the physical landscape but also brings new hope and opportunities for the residents of Okpoko, symbolizing a leap towards sustainable development and social inclusivity in Anambra State.

As Okpoko ushers in a new era of prosperity and growth, the efforts of Governor Soludo and the unwavering support of the APGA under Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa’s leadership are indeed commendable milestones that will inspire future generations.
