The Red Bull 5-Aside African Championship ended in Lagos with Asisat Oshoala Foundation Queens winning the tournament and a ticket to represent Nigeria at the Neymar Jnr. 5 Girls Tournament.
The Neymar Jnr. 5 Girls Tournament will take place in Qatar from 13-17 January, 2022.
The Asisat Oshoala Foundation Queens were outstanding at the Red Bull competition as they showed their supremacy from the first match of the competition, winning all games en route to the final where they spanked Ebi Ladies 5-0 to lift the coveted cup.
P.M. EXPRESS understands that the Neymar Jnr. 5 Girls Tournament is a global football competition where a team is expected to register seven players. The Nigeria’s representatives, the Asisat Oshoala Foundation Queens, will leave Lagos for Qatar on 12 January and expected back in the country on 18 January.
The captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Asisat Oshoala, who is founder of Asisat Oshoala Foundation whose Queens won the Red Bull Cup is elated with the feat of the girls, adding that she could see a rare quality of superstar players in them.
“I am super excited that the girls will represent Nigeria at the world stage by qualifying for the world tournament. I strongly hope and belief that they will make the Asisat Oshoala Foundation and indeed Nigeria as a country proud in Qatar,” the FC Barcelona striker said.
