Between The 200K Passport And 70K Minimum Wage

I have read a couple of posts and heard arguments about this new cost for the Nigerian Passport and the Minimum wage in Nigeria and I wonder how anyone will come up with such a comparison really!

A Passport is a travel document and you don’t need one to use as your everyday work or Church ID, you don’t need one if you don’t travel…!

A Passport is also like the Driver’s license that you get because you have a car or you drive someone or another’s car!

You can’t just decide to acquire a Passport and you keep it in your “Comboard” to look at it every morning…you get it because you want a visa in it sharp sharp to travel, there has to be immediate plans.

The shocking part is that a lot of folks who don’t even earn up to 70k or who don’t even earn salaries have the Passport, it is about what you want and if its important to you, you save towards it.

Now you talk about minimum wage, how do you think some of those who earn “minimum wage” build houses and move their families in there?

How can you earn “minimum wage” and you’re able to buy big cars and own small businesses that fetch you everyday money?

For those who earn minimum wage and have children studying abroad how do you think they do it? (God makes a way for them)

I have a 64 page Passport that expires in 2031 and I wanted to change it 2 years ago because it carries my late husband’s name and I wanted to go back to my father’s name because of the explanations I make about Onyegbule and George-Anderson when i travel, but I decided against it because it is still useful to me and I have my travel stamps in there…so why commit money to fix what’s not broken?

When we critique things let’s put it in context, yes a new hike in anything will hit anyone just as the increase in foodstuff hit us all but then at some point the picture gets clearer and we adjust just as we all have, with our eating habits and panic-buying or shopping without a list.

The Minimum Wage has nothing to do with the new pricing for the International Passport, if you need it you will work towards getting one and I pray that you find the means to do so.

Note that this is not an elitist opinion but from a clear conscience and in my right to express it.

Don’t engage with the post please if you are not capable of orderly or sensible conversation! Please walk past it.

Have a blessed day!
