It was a chanced but packaged meeting as young players of Buruj Sports Academy came face-to-face with some of their soccer idols in the colours of Manchester United at the airport on their way back home from England where they won the doubles during this year’s edition of English Super Cup.
Buruj Boys who were set to board their Turkish airline flight were basically in the seventh heaven when players like Juan Mata, Eric Bailey, Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku led by their enigmatic manager Jose Mourinho arrived at the airport to board their own flight to keep a date with Young Boys of Switzerland in their match day 1 group game of this year’s UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
What followed was sharing of pleasantries and taking of pictures and selfies as both sides wished themselves best of luck in their immediate engagements and pursuit of their career advancement in the beautiful game of football.
The young Buruj side are due back in the country on Thursday to commence their preparations for the next trip that may see them visit countries like Spain, France, Turkey and England.
On arrival, they are billed to embark on trophy tours to some selected locations and present same to certain individuals who have contributed in no small measure to the success of their sojourn in England for close to two months.
