The CEO of Buruj Football Club, Waheed Salaudeen Buruj, has expressed profound gratitude to Italian Consulate General in Lagos, particularly the Consul General, Mr. Ugo Boni, for the interest in football development by organizing a tournament.

In his message of appreciation, Dr Waheed said, “First of all, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Italian Consulate General in Lagos, particularly the Consul General, Mr. Ugo Boni, for organizing this wonderful tournament and for giving Buruj Football Club the opportunity to participate”.

“I would also like to commend Mr. Babatunde Omijeh, Chief Executive Officer of Rudder Sports Management, for his commitment to youth football development and his efforts in creating opportunities for young Nigerian talents through initiatives such as this.”

“This competition is more than just football. It is a platform that connects young Nigerian talents with international opportunities and demonstrates the power of sports in youth development.”

“At Buruj Football Club and Sports Academy, our mission is to develop players both academically and professionally. We are proud to be part of a tournament that rewards excellence not only with prize money but also with a football development trip to Italy for selected players.”

“Our players are excited, motivated, and ready for the challenge. We have prepared well, and we are here to compete with respect, discipline, and sportsmanship. While we aim to win the ₦10 million prize, our primary goal is to showcase the quality of talent we are developing and to create opportunities for our young players.”

“Buruj has consistently produced talented players, who have represented Nigeria at youth levels and progressed to professional football. We hope this tournament will provide another pathway for our players to gain international exposure and further their development.”

“We believe initiatives like this strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and Italy through sports while creating life-changing opportunities for young footballers.”

“On behalf of Buruj Football Club and Sports Academy, I thank the Italian Consulate General, Mr. Ugo Boni, Mr. Babatunde Omijeh, Rudder Sports Management, and all the organizers for making this event possible. We wish all participating teams the very best and look forward to an exciting, competitive, and successful tournament.”
