A business man, one Mr. Paul Osemele may have realised the import of his greed and foolishness after he went to a spiritualist in Lagos and gave him about $30,000 Dollars in order to double the money for him through spiritual means.

Unknown to him, the 46-year old spiritualist, Sidi Abdulahi needed money more than him. Not only did he convert the money to his own use but reportedly threatened the victim’s life in order to scare him away.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the equivalent of the money Osemele wanted Abdulahi to double for him through spiritual powers was about N9m in Nigerian currency.

The incident happened at Oko-Oba area of Agege of Lagos where Abdulahi resided and operated his spiritual house.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Mr. Osemele who already had such money was directed to Abdulahi to seek for spiritual help that will enable his business to flourish more. During their interaction, Osemele was said to have revealed to Abdulahi that he had such money in his possession and needed more money for his business. He was then convinced to bring the money as Abdulahi promised that he would use his spiritual powers to double the money, he will become richer and his business will grow bigger. The victim brought the whole money and handed over to him hoping to come back to collect the doubled money as they had agreed.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that on the agreed date, Abdulahi asked him to go and come back on a different date as the money was not yet ready because he wanted to perform some sacrifices before he will take the money. He continued changing the dates until it became clear to Osemele that he had no such powers to double the money and he then asked for the refund of his money.

Osemele received the shock of his life when Abdulahi asked him which money he was asking him to refund. He walked him out of his house and threatened to deal with him if he dared to come to his house over the money.
The matter was reported to the police at FSARS at Ikeja Command, Lagos, the suspect was arrested and detained. It was gathered that when the police interrogated Abdulahi, he confessed that he had no such spiritual powers to double any money and that he collected the money from Osemele to solve some pressing problems he was facing then.
He was charged before the Ikeja Magistrates court for criminal conspiracy and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Akokhia granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Mr Ben Aighokhah did not objected to his bail but asked the court to give Abdulahi bail condition that will enable him to come and face trial in the interest of justice.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 24 April, 2018.
