Visiting President of Madagascar Football Federation, Ahmad Ahmad, who is vying for the Presidency of the Confederation of African Football, CAF against the incumbent , Issa Hayatou has said that he is not the best candidate for the top football administrator in the continent, but he can be better than his Cameroonian opponent if given the mandate by the CAF congress.

” I thank the people and government of Nigeria for this warm welcome and I am very happy . I am not the best in African football administration, but I can be better than Issa Hayatou. Amaju Pinnick, your Football President has been very supportive of this project and I am very confident that with the support of other African football member associations, I can win, but most especially with the help of God, ” Ahmad said.
The 57-year-old football administrator further affirmed that former African internationals should be given more opportunities to contribute their quota to the development of African football by coming to CAF to serve in various committees.
” There is a need for more former African internationals to come into CAF in various committees , for them to help the development of football in Africa. These African players have vast knowledge of the game and this should be earnest to develop the game on the continent, ” he said.
