AZUH ARINZE
This evening, at the distinct La Madison Event Centre, in Oniru, Lagos, family members, friends, well wishers, associates, colleagues, etc, will be converging to celebrate and serenade a showbiz impresario and icon, Ken-Calebs Olumese.
Mr. Olumese, popularly known as Guv’nor, undoubtedly, transformed the nightclubbing landscape of Lagos State with The Niteshift and later The Coliseum.
Back then, the selfless man from the university town of Ekpoma, in Edo State, had a flagship programme called the Grand House Reception (GHR), which played host to the high and mighty. Today, however, he would be taking his turn at a Super Grand House Reception (SGHR) put together by a committee of friends. Of course, with a number of surprises here and there.
The SGHR is actually in commemoration of the Guv’nor’s 80th – and we, his adopted children and ardent disciples, have chosen not to keep quiet about it.
I spent some memorable evenings with him at his Lekki, Lagos home fine-tuning one or two things, but won’t be sharing the details until after this evening’s celebration.
Happy birthday, Guv and thanks for showing me so much love…
