Following the successful conduct of the Lagos State Local Government elections held on Saturday, 12th July 2025, preparations are in top gear for the official swearing-in of Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD) as the duly elected Chairman of Ikeja Local Government.

The swearing-in ceremony, which will be presided over by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 27th July 2025, at the Governor’s Office, Alausa, Ikeja.

The event is expected to attract dignitaries including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), top government officials, traditional rulers, party leaders, elected vice chairmen, friends, and well-wishers from across the state.

As the date draws near, the Ikeja community is already aglow with excitement, eagerly anticipating the formal assumption of office by Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda. The mood is one of hope and renewed commitment to grassroots development, as residents look forward to an administration that is people-oriented, inclusive, and focused on sustainable progress.

With the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA; an acronym representing Infrastructural Development and Urban Renewal; Knowledge-Based Economic Empowerment; Environmental Governance and Healthcare Initiatives; Just Society Driven by Access to Welfare Services; and Accountability and Good Governance; the incoming administration under AKOD is poised to deliver transformational leadership that works for all.

The people of Ikeja have spoken through the ballot, placing their confidence in Comrade Dauda’s leadership, vision, and capacity to deliver real dividends of democracy. Their expectations are high, and rightly so, as AKOD prepares to hit the ground running to build a better, more vibrant Ikeja for all.

As the swearing-in ceremony approaches, we join the people of Ikeja in wishing the incoming Chairman a successful tenure, marked by impact, innovation, and inclusive development.
