Comrade Dauda Reaffirms Commitment To Prioritising Healthcare Delivery In Ikeja

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today participated in a high-level Joint Leadership Dialogue on Strengthening the Primary Health Care System, alongside other Local Government Chairmen across Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the programme was held at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.
The leadership dialogue convened key stakeholders in the health sector, including representatives of development partners and institutions such as UNICEF, the World Bank, Nigeria Health Watch, IMPACT, EngenderHealth, ACIOE, CCSI, and relevant State and Local Government health agencies.
The engagement focused on collaborative strategies to enhance primary health care delivery, accountability, funding efficiency, and sustainable health outcomes at the grassroots level.
Discussions at the event emphasized the critical role of Local Governments in revitalizing the primary health care system, improving access to quality healthcare services, and strengthening health infrastructure, workforce capacity, and community engagement. Participants also explored policy alignment and partnership opportunities aimed at achieving universal health coverage and improved maternal, child, and community health indices.
Speaking on the importance of the programme, the Ikeja Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising healthcare delivery in Ikeja Local Government. He noted that strengthening primary health care remains central to building healthier communities and aligns with his administration’s broader agenda on human capital development and social welfare.
The Ikeja LG Boss further stated that lessons and insights gained from the leadership dialogue would be effectively deployed to enhance service delivery across primary health centres in Ikeja, through improved collaboration with state authorities and development partners.
He said that Ikeja Local Government remains committed to policies and partnerships that promote accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all residents.
