A 25-year old convicted disabled armed robber, Sunday Oyebanjo has stated that his condition never posed any threat for him to achieve his aims as a robber until his recent arrest in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Oyebanjo was arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrates court, Lagos for conspiracy and burglary where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two year imprisonment without an option of fine.
The police alleged that Oyebanjo and others now at large went in the night, broke two shops belonging to owners, Mrs. Ramota Adeleye and Okeke Chukwunonso and carted some items.

The incident happened at Ijegun Road in Isheri Oshun area of Lagos where they resided and the shops were located.

They were alleged to have used some tools to dig holes from the back of the shops where Oyebanjo who was disabled easily entered through and brought out the  items.
However, while they were carting away the items, the security in the area raised alarm and the other suspects who came with Oyebànjo escaped. But before Oyebanjo could come out from the hole, the security men had already rounded the shops and he surrendered.

He was handed over to the police at Isheri Oshun Division, he confessed revealing that he was among the robbers behind the rampant burglary that went on in the area.
Oyebanjo was charged before the court and he pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale while presenting facts before the court, said that since the defendant did not waste the time of the court, he should be sentenced accordingly to serve as deterrent to others who might want to commit the offence.
He admitted before the court that he was fully involved in the operation and that was what he had been doing despite his condition.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo found him guilty as charged and sentenced him accordingly.

However, the two count charge will run concurrently as ordered by the court which means that Oyabanjo will spend only 12 months in prison custody.
