Laws and principles are needed in times like this. Well phrased with proper punctuations. Because there are temptations in high places. So serious and scary. Ignoring them spells disaster for any character caught in the web. It’s a time of body and soul rising in mutiny against rigour. It’s a season of irregular hatred and envy. The century of conscience slaughter. Yes, human energy is needed. Because brothers are in again. No more respect for blood and brotherhood. Divergence views killing relationships. No one is ready to throw in the towel.

So, barely two weeks after the governorship elections in Akwa Ibom State. The hammers of questions are falling in tones. Attacking the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere in their own wisdom. They horribly tagged him to NDDC chronicles. The funds, projects and Akwa Ibom slot. Mentioned unpreparedness for the just concluded elections. They say his sins are hush in nature. Accusing him of unsupported claims. And surprisingly, none of their allegations has any evidence in the open. But since these are coming from sere Majesty and Your Lordships of questions. Seeking a simple answer. I will give it in this manner, just like a faithful husband, neither horned nor toothed.

Yes, he sacrificed his position as the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to serve his people. Obong Nsima Ekere was the face behind all these new roads springing up in Akwa Ibom State. That was after engineering many ideas. Managed situations. Don’t join issues with those imputing motives that he would have continued with that office. They are hypocrites because in one breathe to latch on an election without opponents, and when convenient, they invoked sentiments, blackmail and character assassination. At what chapter is it a crime to offer oneself for humanitarian services? The crux is, people won’t just stop believing on negative rules. And nothing to erase the golden records by Obong Nsima Ekere. This is after leaving a heartbreaking record in NDDC. No dented figures, no doubted margins. His only crime is that he wouldn’t have entered the ring to challenge the incumbent. And now, they’re at it again. He shouldn’t go to the tribunal. But supporting their presidential candidate to challenge President Buhari’s winning in court. Crucify Nsima Ekere!

If that were so, it means Obong Nsima Ekere’s ambition was pure and timely. But his major offence was to accept the uncommon man into his camp. According to them, it bears much to provoke public lament. Because collaborating with such a fellow does not guarantee a legal victory in a competing season like this. A man who had raised himself to a slot of demi-god. Created many enemies for himself. Making boast of himself about his political strength and powers. A man who boasted about his sequential records of raising leaders. A man who boasted that elections will be concluded after three hours of resumption. They even insinuated that it would have been easier for Nsima Ekere to perfect his ambition without the uncommon man. Yet those who flay him now were in this state when Nsima deputized the uncommon man. They were here when the uncommon man singlehandedly installed the incumbent from zero point. When he raised boys to men. When he changed the face of politics in Akwa Ibom. The records bear me out. Because Nsima did no wrong to accept a man with an attractive political records. Yes, most people hate the uncommon man. But a greater percentage of them benefitted from him. And today turn their back against him. It’s a scrutiny in politics of unknown.

Nsima Ekere isn’t after wealth in politics. But politics of wealth for others. An Estate Valuer by profession. A former chairman of AKIIPOC, later Ibom Power. He has been a deputy governor, acting governor and Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. A stereotype for development and prosperity. His ambition was championed on total commitment for an average Akwa Ibom person. During the campaigns, he made his mind opened. And declared his intention willingly. Where Agriculture, prosperity, youth and social development took the center stage. He’s a man that holds faithfulness and sincerity as first principles. This explains why many people took advantage of his simplicity. They appeared friendly, but dangerous at heart. Collected what were meant for the masses, converted them to their personal use. On the election day, they became stonehearted. Fighting Nsima, thinking they were fighting the Uncommon man. Because to them, if Nsima had won, the Uncommon man would have taken the glory. And they possibly forgot that if Nsima had won, their story would have changed. Ironically, they did not frustrate Nsima, rather themselves.

Honestly, the motive behind criticism often determines its validity. Those who rebuke Obong Nsima Ekere and the APC for approaching tribunal to seek redress on their stolen mandate are the real enemies of democracy. They openly supported their presidential candidate to go to tribunal, but rebuff Nsima from embarking on such a journey. It’s a clear indication that they’re weak in character and evidence to defend their ‘winning.’ A good purpose, which has known only ONE God, cannot be changed. The truth shall prevail. It’s a matter of time!
