De Norsemen Kclub Urges Security Chiefs To Stem Tide Of Killings

The International President of De Norsemen Kclub, Dr Adeshola Giwa, has berated the Security Chiefs for the wanton unabated killings in Nigeria. He stated that the recent killings of innocent citizens in three LGAs in Plateau state were so heartbreaking and should never be treated like others.

Speaking to the media in Lagos yesterday, Dr Giwa stated that Nigerians were being killed in their numbers on daily basis without any acceptable explanation. He added that life has lost value in Nigeria .

Dr Giwa pointed out that the news space in the country has consistently been about one terror related news to another, whether It is either banditry in Zamfara or Kaduna, Boko Haram in Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, militancy in the South South, agitation in the South East,  Herdsmen in all the middle belt states of Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nassarawa, Kogi, Kwara. He noted that the recent case has revealed the level of our unpreparedness by our security agencies to end the spate of terror.

Dr Giwa noted that President Buhari rode to electoral victory in 2015 on the assurance that security of lives and properties will be top priority. He added that the President campaigned with a promise that no territory of Nigeria will home to any form of insecurity but today, regions has been conquered.

Dr Giwa pointed out that Nigeria needs Security Chiefs that are more conversant with the use of modern technology to fight terrorism, banditry and insurgency

Dr Giwa also stated that the current Security Chiefs have failed in policy and principle to provide the road map to rescue lives of the citizens from these blood letting demons. He therefore called for an overhaul of the security architecture of the country.

However, Dr Giwaexpressed fear that the country was so volatile that any form of self defence may eventually unfold a full scale war.

Dr Giwa condoled with the Government and people of Plateau State in particular and Nigeria in general for the countless lives lost in the state and every other part of the country.
