Dr Chima Matthew Amadi has challenged women in Ahiazu Mbaise to look beyond the places of origin of political leaders and instead focus on the quality of leadership and its impact on the lives of ordinary citizens. Dr Amadi made the call while addressing women gathered for their August Meeting at All Saints Catholic Parish, Obodo Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise, where he urged them to support leaders who are genuinely committed to improving the living conditions of the people.
The women leader, while delivering the welcome address, expressed appreciation to Dr Amadi for identifying with them and pledged the support of the women towards the realisation of his aspirations.
Also speaking, Hon Henry Onwukwe urged the women to begin preparations immediately for the January 16, 2027 election, calling on them to mobilise themselves, their families and everyone within their circles to support Dr Amadi.
Addressing the women, Dr Amadi said the most important consideration in choosing a leader should not be the town or community the person comes from, but the mentality and commitment the individual brings to leadership.
According to him, society should not be concerned about where a leader comes from as long as such a person is capable of performing, improving the lives of the people and making the society better for everyone.
He stressed that government should always be about the people, noting that the consequences of bad governance do not discriminate based on town, community or political affiliation.
Dr Amadi questioned how a government could continue to receive millions of naira in allocations while many communities still struggle with poor roads, inadequate healthcare facilities and dangerous roads that have increasingly become death traps for motorists and other road users.
He maintained that the time has come for ordinary citizens, particularly the poor and vulnerable, to recognise and take back the power that belongs to them.
“It’s time for the poor to take over their power,” Dr Amadi declared, stressing that his vision is centred on raising the standard of living of the people and ensuring that leadership translates into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.
He reiterated his commitment to empowering communities and supporting initiatives that directly benefit the people.
As part of his support for the women and their community projects, Dr Amadi donated the sum of ₦2 million towards their projects, further reinforcing his message that leadership should be about service, empowerment and improving the lives of the people.
