In recognition of his clean business record and moral behaviour even in the field of Nigeria’s dirty politics, Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists  (NACJ), recently, in an elaborate ceremony in Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, awarded Dr Uche Ogah The Integrity Man of the Year 2018.

In the same ceremony, the wife of Nigeria’s President, Her Excellency, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and twelve (12) others were celebrated, in recognition of their integrity in business and public service.

Despite running a conglomerate of over 16 subsidiaries with billions in annual turnover, Dr Uche Ogah has maintained a clean record and a good name for himself. This is despite desperate efforts by political opponents over the years to tarnish his towering image.

He is not only a respected international business man and a humble billionaire; he was one of the few petroleum marketers under Nigeria’s subsidy regime that was given a Clean Bill by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  (EFCC) in the year 2014.

Dr Uche Ogah built a reputation for himself during the subsidy regime by ensuring that petroleum products are sold across his chains at exact subsidized rates, refusing to hoard products or tamper with petroleum pump. In line with his policy on integrity, staff of his company who engage in shoddy deals within and outside the conglomerate  are sacked in order to maintain his business philosophy.

To accentuate yesterday’s award, Dr Uche Ogah’s community people resident in Lagos had earlier hosted him to a civic reception in a glamourous ceremony in Ikeja GRA. This was in recognition of his developmental efforts in Uturu land. The community in a testament like ceremony enumerated many of his personally financed projects in their town and how he has brought prosperity to the people and inspired many others to prosperity across Abia State.

Dr Uche Ogah who is usually media shy and does not like to advertise his good deeds was literally forced to the two events by his towns development union and associates who insists he deserves all the accolades for his inspiring efforts and integrity in business.

He used the occasion to make further contributions to the development of his Town and Nigeria.
