The Director-General of Tinubu Support Group (TSG) Nigeria & Diaspora, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, has warmly congratulated the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon Dr James Abiodun Faleke, on his well-deserved appointment as a member of the Governance Advisory Council in Lagos State.
In his congratulatory message made available to the media, Dr Yakasai said,
“The appointment of Honourable James Abiodun Faleke as a member of the prestigious Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, GAC, is a resounding affirmation of merit, loyalty, and sustained excellence in public service. We extend our most profound congratulations to this distinguished statesman on his well-deserved elevation into the apex advisory organ of governance in Lagos State”.
“Hon. Faleke’s trajectory in the political and administrative architecture of Lagos State is both storied and indelible. A consummate technocrat and political strategist, he emerged as one of the foundational pillars of the transformative governance model instituted under His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, during his epochal tenure as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007. As Executive Secretary and later Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Faleke exemplified grassroots governance at its finest — institutionalizing transparency, fiscal discipline, and people-centered projects that became templates across the State’s local government system.”
“His contributions during that formative era transcended local administration. Hon. Faleke was a critical operative in the intellectual and political machinery that engineered the fiscal rebirth of Lagos State — from the pioneering internally generated revenue reforms to the institutional innovations that liberated Lagos from federal overdependence. His fidelity to the progressive ethos, strategic acumen, and capacity for consensus-building marked him out as a trusted lieutenant in the renaissance that repositioned Lagos as Nigeria’s economic lodestar.”
“Since 1999, Hon. Faleke has remained an unflinching custodian of the governance philosophy that birthed modern Lagos. As a ranking member of the House of Representatives and a pivotal figure in national politics, he has continued to project the Lagos development model while defending its institutional legacies. His elevation to the GAC is therefore a case of a round peg in a round hole — the return of a proven architect to the council of custodians charged with preserving and advancing the governance DNA of Lagos State.”
“The Governance Advisory Council (GAC) will be immeasurably enriched by Hon. Faleke’s encyclopedic institutional memory, his granular understanding of Lagos politics, and his unwavering commitment to the progressive ideology. We have no doubt that his counsel will further consolidate the stability, continuity, and innovation that define governance in the Centre of Excellence.”
“Once again, from all of us at the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), we congratulate our indefatigable leader and progenitor, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke on this noble appointment. May his wisdom continue to serve Lagos State and our nation” Dr Yakasai concluded.
