How Man, 52, Drugged Lady & Recorded Sex Action For Extortion

A 52-year old man, Franklyn Njoku, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly drugging a lady, recording himself having sex with her, and using the video to extort money from her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 30th January, 2026, in the Epe area of Lagos.
According to the Police, after the act, the suspect sent the recorded video to his friend and began extorting money from the victim.
The matter was reported to the Police at the Special Enquiry Bureau (SEB). The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the Command for interrogation.
After thorough interrogation, he was found culpable and consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offences, which attract several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, FRANKLYN NJOKU ‘M’, on the 30th January, 2026, at about 12:00 hrs, in Epe, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did use your iPhone 11 to send threatening messages to the victim and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 56(1)(a) & (b) and punishable under Section 56(2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, FRANKLYN NJOKU ‘M’, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by luring the victim into your residence and unlawfully administering drugs and other chemical substances on her, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, FRANKLYN NJOKU ‘M’, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did record the victim on video while having sexual intercourse with her and forwarded it to your friend, and also used the video recording to extort from her, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 149(1), (2), and (4), and punishable under Section 150(1) and Section 151 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, FRANKLYN NJOKU ‘M’, on the 12th of January, 2026, at about 12:00 hrs at Falomo Area of Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did rape the victim and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
