A 40-year old man, Joseph Ibanga, who was arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year old girl, has insisted that the victim enjoyed the sex romps having done it for several months and she did not complain or tell anyone that she was raped.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embattled Ibanga confirmed to the police that he had slept with the victim from February, 2019 till March, 2019 but she did not complain to anybody before he was arrested.
The alleged defilement took place at Iresi Street in Orile Agege where they reside.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspect, Ibanga, allegedly lured the victim into his apartment, got her confused, engaged her in sex romp and warned her not to tell anyone about it.
He was said to have continued to engage the victim in sex romp until it was exposed; their neighbours informed the victim’s parents. She was asked what she had been doing with Ibanga and she then revealed that she had been sleeping with him.
The parents went to the police and reported that Ibanga had sexually assaulted the under aged girl and deflowered her in the process.

The suspect, Ibanga, was arrested and after interrogation he was transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for further investigation. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that he denied that he raped her but had normal sex with her which did not cause her any pains as her private part was already mature.

However, the Police at the Gender Section found him culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence. The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, informed the Court that the victim was a minor and the offence was serious which required the DPP’s advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O Sule-Amzat, ordered the defendant, Ibanga, to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 22nd July, 2019.
