A 62-year old man, Sabi Bruno who was arrested for having sex with a 14-year old girl has defended his action, by saying that the victim was matured enough as he penetrated her with easy and they both enjoyed it without complaints.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that his defence was ignored as the police found him culpable and charged him before a Lagos court for sexual assault on the victim because of her age.
He was remanded in prison custody for the alleged offence.
The incident happened at Badagry Road in Apapa where the suspect and the victim’s parents reside.
The suspect allegedly lured the victim to his apartment when her parents were not around and reportedly sexually assaulted her.
It was gathered that the suspect had been pestering the victim and usually offered her gifts before he allegedly raped her and warned her not to tell her parents.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the teenage victim kept the secret until she summoned courage and told her parents who had suspected her movements into Baba’s apartment.
When the suspect was confronted over the assault, he admitted but told them that their daughter has been doing it before then as her private was already open which made it easy for him to penetrate her.
The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was charged before Ogba Magistrates court for assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Davis Abegunde granted Bruno bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 18th of September, 2017.
