Ex-Sales Manager Docked For Stealing Goods Worth N3m At Trade Fair Complex

A 35-year old former Sales Manager,  Rachael Egbukwuyomi, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing goods worth about N3m belonging to her boss, Okoh Blessing, at Trade Fair Complex. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between 1st of May, 2025 and 16th of June, 2025 at Shop No. A/47 Plateau Plaza, BBA, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, where she was employed as a Sales Manager.

 

According to the Police, she was employed as the Manager by the complainant and one month after, she started stealing items in the shop to the tune of the said amount.

 

The matter was exposed after the complainant conducted an internal audit and discovered that the items were missing and the suspect was unable to explain what happened.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Trade Fair Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing items.

 

The Police found her culpable after interrogation and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Rachael Egbukwuyomi ‘F’ former sales manager of one Okoh Blessing ‘F’ between 1st of May, 2025 and 16th of June, 2025 at Shop No. A/47 Plateau Plaza, BBA Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district did steal the following human hairs: 2 pieces of 30 inches bone straight, 1 piece of 28 inches bone straight, 1 piece of 26 inches closure, 1 bundle of 16 inches bounce hair, 1 piece of 18 Inches closure, 2 bundles of 16 inches body waives 200g, 3 pieces of 22 inches body waive 500g and 3 pieces of 28 inches body waive 300g all valued N1,995,000 and cash of N600,000 Total N2,995,000 property of one Okoh Blessing ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 (7) criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”

 

However, she pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence against the complainant.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted her bail in the sum of N450,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
