Ndigbo may have settled for a new President of the socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State, as the the tenure of the incumbent President, Chief Solomon Aguene, is coming to an end with the inauguration of the electoral committee.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Ezendigbo in Oto Awori LCDA, Eze Elder Timothy Nwanoro, has nominated and publicly endorsed a renowned stakeholder, Dr Femi Ferguson, for the position of the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.

The endorsement of Dr Ferguson may be because of his impeachable character and integrity coupled with his passion for the interest of Ndigbo over the years.

Eze Timothy Nwanoro noted that he settled for Dr Ferguson because he discovered that he is a man with milk of human kindness and passionate about the interest of Ndigbo in general.

He explained that Ndigbo needs Dr Ferguson as president in Lagos State because of his leadership qualities and having contributed immensely to the progress of Ndigbo and indeed humanity.

Going by the description of  Eze Timothy Nwanoro, Ndigbo may have gotten the right candidate to replace Chief Solomon Aguene if Dr Ferguson eventually accepts to contest for the presidency of the socio-cultural group.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Eze Timothy Nwanoro is not the only person that has endorsed and nominated Dr Ferguson to lead Ndigbo in Lagos State; so many groups including the Igbo Speaking Community, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, town unions, market men and women have as well nominated Ferguson for the position.

These groups believe that Dr Ferguson fits into the position as a unifier, a man of peace and impeachable character to  lead Ndigbo to Champion a new course and direction for Ndigbo in Lagos State.

However, it was not certain if he has accepted or not to contest. But what is certain is that Dr Femi Ferguson is under intense pressure from Igbo various groups, individuals and Ndieze to accept to lead Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Dr Femi Dom Ferguson was given an award by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State for his outstanding performance, service to Ndigbo and the society at large.

The current President, Chief Aguene, had noted that Dr Femi Ferguson was one of the Igbo great sons, who has over the years made sacrifices and served the Igbo from lower to the highest capacity, hence the Ohanaeze bestowed him the honour.
